How It All Started

  • The Duo

In 2019, I delved into dog training, sparked by acquiring my dog, Simba, from a teammate's ex-teammate amid a litter.

Simba became my primary companion, and our days were filled with playful yet purposeful training sessions.

Over time, his exemplary behavior, obedience, and gentle demeanor garnered attention, both online and in public, prompting encouragement from peers. Encouraged by this feedback, I transitioned into professional dog training.

  • Yin & Yang

Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work alongside a fellow trainer, Christian Wirth, who not only hired me for my first job as a dog trainer but also helped me refine my ability to articulate training techniques and concepts effectively. Under his guidance, I learned to provide detailed explanations and address inquiries from owners and dog enthusiasts alike.

Subsequently, I ventured to Texas with Christian, initially pursuing pest control. However, adverse reactions to the chemicals and inadequate compensation led me to reevaluate my path.

  • New Perspectives

It was in Leander, Texas, that I encountered Precision K9 Work, helmed by the highly skilled Jake Wright. Under his mentorship, I absorbed invaluable insights into dog training, including protection work and dog sports like PSA, by closely observing his interactions with dogs, clients, and staff.

  • On the Road

Following my time in Texas, I opted to resume my education at Millikin University alongside my high school teammate, Jahlil Lipkin, with the dual aim of continuing my football career and obtaining degrees in business and bachelor of arts. While on campus, I contributed to the training of residents, teammates, and peers' dogs within student housing.
